If you are in Louisville, KY tomorrow night and looking for something to do. Might I suggest heading to Pyro Gallery and checking out "Mix Messages". I hear it is Friday night and the trolley is hopping and the galleries are open. Drink all the free large bottles of wine you can.

You will get to see some of my work rocking along side of a few big boys. Thank you to Matthew Cummings for helping my into the show. His work is pretty nice too...check it out below.
you can see some more of Matthew's work here.

It has been too long since I have posted anything here, but that is all about to change! First and foremost Waylon and Christy are doing great.

We have been readjusting to being back in Tennessee and have settled into our new family dynamic. Everyday holds a new amazing smile from the little one and we love watching him discover the world. Here is to hoping we fix a few of our follies before he catches on.

Last gratuitous baby shot (for this post anyway).

It is a hard thing to change locations just after you settle into one. Santa Fe was just getting real for me, when we moved back to Tennessee. I was just starting to feel at home in the studios there, and beginning to carve a little place for myself there. But we came to TN for a job and it is not bad. It is hard working for another artist, all your "free" time poured into their work. I am learning a great deal that I may not have had the chance to learn on my own. I certainly would have made a few more mistakes on my own and it nice watching this museum project come together. More on that later.
In just the last few days I have realized that I was sinking into depression. I was becoming very insulated/isolated and unfocused. I did not have the drive to go work on my own work and was actually considering never working as an artist again. BUT....
Sometimes you stand up and the breeze just reminds you it is great to be alive. That you are lucky. That even if you have to fight harder with less, that is just what you will do.
I see things in working as an artist that I did not see before. I feel as though i am on the other side of a very delineated moment in time.
What follows are pictures of works in progress, works that are abandoned, and works that I hope you enjoy.
Good Wishes to You All. See You Real Soon.

Valle Grande 2011 Fire

A wildfire erupted earlier today about twenty miles northwest of where I live. I began writing a blog post two weeks ago about another fire that started in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, but just did not post it for some reason. Now on the horizon two large fires smoke.
The scale of the smoke rising is staggering.
